The construction of atalus retaining walls
The atalus walls allow to :
- Stabilize the foot of slopes;
- Rebuild collapsed walls;
- Create an entrance or support a terrace
- Build a landscaped wall (curves, various fruits, integration of stairs in the wall...) ;
- Vegetate the slopes (an integrated watering system is placed in the notches);
- Creating engineering structures (underpasses and overpasses);
- Erecting high walls (the record is 26 m with a highway on top);
- Execute complex architectures;
- Create volumes (flower boxes, terraces, hanging gardens, flower beds...);
- Building walls in seismic zones (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Algeria...).

Retaining wall: an advantageous solution from all points of view
An ecological solution
The atalus is an ecological solution, conducive to sustainable development. The volume of topsoil is important (from 100 to 350 liters/m²). The installation of an integrated watering system (in the wings of the atalus) ensures a rapid vegetation growth (green walls, flowerbeds, hanging gardens...).
The atalus also saves on concrete (from 240 to 450 kg per m² of wall). It requires no foundation, just clean concrete. It is a 100% natural raw material (sand + gravel + hydraulic binder), dismountable, reusable and recyclable. It is important to know that after years of good and loyal service, the atalus can be crushed and reused for the manufacture of another concrete element.
An economical solution
The ease of use on a simple clean concrete and an industrialized production make the atalus a very competitive solution.
A technical solution
Thanks to the technique of the reinforced blocks, we can achieve walls of great height. We carry out the pre-study, the various calculations (in accordance with NF standards) and provide technical assistance. From a front view, a section and information on the quality of the soil in place, we carry out the pre-study free of charge.
An aesthetic solution
A wall that disappears under the vegetation, with rounded shapes on a human scale, offers great flexibility of use (curves, right angles, vertical connections, slope variations from 45 to 88°, integration of stairs...). It is available in several colors (gray concrete or stone tone).
The atalus is advantageous from various points of view: ecological, economic, technical and aesthetic.
